
Dr. Isabel Scarinci, a key leader of Alabama’s OPERATION WIPE OUT, received distinguished recognition from Rotary District 6860 for her exceptional contributions to disease prevention and public health. The award was presented by Mark Maloney, former Rotary International President and current Chair of the Rotary International Board of Trustees, at a ceremony in Florence, Alabama.
The honor acknowledges Dr. Scarinci’s dedicated work with OPERATION WIPE OUT, a comprehensive statewide effort aimed at eliminating cervical cancer as a public health concern in Alabama. As one of the program’s coordinating partners, Dr. Scarinci has been instrumental in advancing initiatives for HPV vaccination, cervical cancer screening, and follow-up treatment across the state.
Rotary District 6860, which represents all Rotary Clubs in North-Central Alabama, recognized Dr. Scarinci’s outstanding service in promoting the Rotary Foundation’s mission of disease prevention and treatment.
